Often caused by:
- Insufficient clear space around the machine
- Machine situated near a source of heat
- Using anything other than Eskimo Joe's slush syrup
- An incorrect mix ratio of syrup and water
Quick checks:
Check the machine has power and is switched on, if the lights are on the machine has power
Make sure overnight mode is used - don't just turn the machine off with slush in as this damages the machine and causes ice chunks. Switch to overnight mode as per image below:
Check only genuine Eskimo Joe's syrup is used, using anything else will void your warranty and damage your machine
Check mix ratio is correct - 1 part syrup to 5 parts water (a guide to mixing your syrup can be found here)
Next steps:
Check the machine has clear space around it - at least 30cm each side and 10cm at rear
Check consistency setting - you can find out how to do this here
Clean the filter:
1) Remove and hoover up any dust/dirt
2) Rinse under water
3) Shake off any excess water and return to machine, the heat from the machine will dry it off completely
Pro Tips:
Always mix your syrups to the correct syrup and water ratio (1 part syrup, 5 parts water) using an Eskimo Joe’s syrup mixing jug
Keep pre-mixed syrup in a refrigerator to keep it cold so that it freezes down faster
Always keep your slush close to the maximum fill line on the tanks
Use overnight mode and fill to the maximum line before putting the machine into overnight mode
Keep clear space around your machine, at least 30cm each side and 10cm at the rear
Clean the filter once a week
If the straw stands up straight in the middle of the cup you've usually got good slush
